Margaret River artist Amanda Ogilby produces her still lifes through a combination of passion and determination, while experiencing sensations of meditative calm and gratitude during the creative process. Pairing common, yet carefully curated household decor with assorted fruits, florals and fabrics, her works are elegantly adorned scenes that are as delicate as they are bold.

Raised in Perth by creative parents, Amanda got engaged in crafts and visual artistry from an early age. She later took art classes during her years at secondary school and continued to pursue creative ventures right through her twenties. After the birth of her two children and a career as a theatre and recovery room nurse, Amanda reinvigorated her artistic zeal and freedom of creative expression. She soon began creating small scale works in acrylics that portrayed simple objects from around her home that provided her peace, before changing her medium exclusively to oils.

In both 2022 and 2024, Amanda was a finalist in the Lethbridge 2000 Small Scale Art Award, as well as a 2023 finalist in the Unearthed Art Prize for emerging artists in Melbourne. Amanda’s art is currently held in a number of galleries around Australia and her works appear in multiple group shows
